Bolusanthus speciosus or Tree Wisteria (Vanwykshout) is a deciduous, multi stemmed tree that is surely one of the most beautiful trees. It looks awesome with its sprays of mauve sweetpea-like flowers. This is a good replacement for the jacaranda tree. It does not grow as big, only up to 6 meters tall, but is just as spectacular.

Celtis africana or White Stinkwood (Witstinkhout) is one of the most popular trees to plant in the garden, parks, parking areas and streets in South Africa. Celtis Africana is a deciduous tree that grow up to 9 meters tall with a wide spread. It will attract a lot of birds to the garden and the root system is not to aggressive. Celtis Africana is distingwish from the exotic species by its soft woolly leaves. Celtis australis and Celtis sinensis has hard leaves. Unfortunately they do hybridise and a many hybrids are available on the market today.
